After over a month with no means of escape, this new freedom is a bit overwhelming.

Choices. Places. Where?

D’oh.

I end up about 2 minutes drive away in the garden centre looking at plants. Yay…?

All I bought was a tiny Tradescantia plant. Something I used to grow and tend and adore many years ago.

Pretty hanging houseplants with a name that I know the history of because I researched Weave a Garland of My Vows so deeply.

John Tradescant (Elder) was the head gardener of George Villiers, Duke of Buckingham in the early 1600’s.

Although the Tradscants (father and son) never appear in the novel, Buckingham’s love of gardens and plants and flowers does.

The book Strange Blooms is a wonderful read for history, gardening, exploration lovers.
