The other day I commented on Conspiracy Graduates youtube video.
Great, superb video about The Book Hunters.
At the time I was 100% sure of my facts. I’m still sure about Balthazar Gerbier because he has had books written about him. And I’ve read them.
It was Gaffarel who made me go back and audit my memory.
I’d never been able to gather much information about him when writing the novel. He was always just a shadow at Richelieu’s side.
So – obviously – I questioned my own ability to research.
Days later I come across a great academic article about Gaffarel.
Note to Self : Never Stand on Your Own Brilliance or Faulty Memory or that sneaky little worm inside that jeers at you and calls you STUPID.
