I celebrated my 19th birthday in Spain.
I’d volunteered to accompany and look after a group of Older People on a weeks holiday in Benidorm in November.
This was a song that I heard a lot over there, even at the surprise birthday party that my Elderly people put on for me.
Swear to God – I had more fun that night with them in their hotel than at any other time in Benidorm.
ESPECIALLY after the girl who’d volunteered with me and was 21 (so she’d seen this film already) took me to a Benidorm backstreet cinema to watch the Exorcist film a couple of days before.
Her name was Valerie and we’d worked the summer season together on a Holiday Camp, The Derbyshire Miners. I thought she was a good friend. Then learned, in Spain, just how much she hated.
