The panic-demic didn’t keep me at home. I liked going into town with no-one else around.

What’s “bound” me this week is the weather and a car that’s working on kind words and a prayer.

As said so many times here – I live in a village with all exits being downhill and the thought of a car fail and an unexpected Eddie the Eagle (look him up!) flight into oncoming traffic is a bit scary.

So – yesterday I prepared today’s meal. Ham Broth. Using left over ham, chicken stock cubes, potatoes, onion, carrots, dried herbs and dried pearl barley. It sat in the bottom oven/plate warmer all night having a pot-party.

OMG. No wonder Scotland thrived and survived on this food.

It’s real FOOD.

P.S. I have to add more stock. The pearl barley has drunk it all :o)
