I had a surprise today. A sight that left me sobbing in the car in front of youngest son.
We had to stop in the market place to drop something off at the Post Office and straight ahead was a funeral cortege.
It’s very rare to see a female undertaker lead the hearse. Today she did. In top hat. With her tailed coat, hat veil and walking stick.
In 5 days it will be 32 years since my Mum died. I remember seeing this sight then and feeling totally numb.
It’s so long since I cried for my mother.
Oh. And I once saw a full on horse drawn hearse. Wow. A sight that will literally stop you dead (!?)
Death IS a fact of life.
