Scotch Broth : I Need a Better Crockpot

The day before yesterday I set myself the task of slow cooking a broth.

We had some ham left over so I used that. With pearl barley, potatoes, onions, carrots, herbes de provence and some bouillon.

Success?

Yes but no but yes but………..!

I’d used too much pearl barley. And I’d had to cook it over two days because my slow-cooker is cheap and basic and needs me to remember when to turn it on/off.

Yeah. Right.

So I’m wanting a new one with a proper programme (and lots of pushy buttons) that’s not dependent on my here-today-gone-a-minute-later memory.

:o)

Sheesh. Even I’m beginning to think that I’m hopeless.
