Told y’all. Fishy food is deadly :o)

I have got to know Henry I of England quite well over the years. He was the youngest son of William the Bastard Conqueror (1066 and all that.)

Also the younger brother of Robert (Curthose) Duke of Normandy and William II (Rufus)

William Rufus was killed by a pesky stray arrow whilst out hunting in the New Forest on or about the 2nd of August 1100. Henry was there and saw all. Then – he left his dead brother to be picked up and respected by servants in the woods and galloped to Winchester to be crowned KING of England.

Anyhoo. He died in 1135 after dissing his doctor’s nutritional advice and eating too many lampreys…….slippery, slimy eels. Karmic Justice?
